1993-08-15 Louisville, KY

A 20 minute Tweezer AND and 18 minute Stash in one '93 show?!?!?

Caravan -Can't remember ever hearing their version of this before - THIS WAS FREAKING GREAT!!!!

Runaway Jim wasn't very lengthy, but it contained a lot of very nice Page-centric Jamming.

Stash contained mostly Type I jamming, but near the end it gets pretty dark and angsty and random! Very cool and fiery - absolutely worth your listening time!!!

Forbin>Narration>Mockingbird - Oooh yea baby here we go! It wasn't techincally segued out of Stash, but for all intents and purposes it played out like that. Perfect friggin' set placement, yo!

Wonderful stuff, always a joy to hear! Sorry, not much more to say - I'm tired and this is a bangin show so far

World-destroying, face-melting, hotter-than-the-sun Chalkdust to end set 1.
That was awesome.

Tweezer!

This is AWESOME!!!! Right away they go into free-form mode - still Type I ripping, but they are hitting different themes and doing quotes, etc.
Run Like An Antelope all but makes an appearance in the middle of this Tweezer for a few minutes :)

After the Antelope Jam, things get more interesting. Fiddling with stop-start motifs (hand signals?) for a bit we eventually go into Dark Reggae mode.

Ooh, this is cool. This is some 1997 stuff right here :p

But this reggae-inspired jam includes some Simpsons signals as well as lots of "circa 1967 psychedelic organ stabs"

Just as quickly as we entered the land of The Coral, we are moving on again to a more funky and rhythmic jamming area where Trey starts reprising the Tweezer theme bit by bit. Hell, at this point though they could jump right into Walk Away or Reggae Woman or Funky B.

15 minutes in now and it feels like we've covered more ground almost than the infamous Alpine Ruby Waves - albeit in much more of a silly and fun manner than Alpine's godly exploration of the heavens :)

Oh what's this?! For a few seconds it sounds like Trey is signaling a segue in The Sloth, but alas 'tis not to be (would've been an incredible segue though!!!)
That's ok though cuz the good-time classic-rock jamming and Machine Gun Trey keeps on coming.

Ah yes, lava in the ears, feel the heat...

18 minutes now and suddenly things slide to another slow halt with an interesting descending stoccato motif being jammed on by Trey and Page with Mike coming on shortly after.

This signals the end of the song and the jam and we move beautifully from here straight into Lizards (yeeesssssss!!!!)

This is an incredible Tweezer but its like every 30 seconds they change it on us - I just wish some of these sections lasted longer!!!! :)

Wowzers, by golly gosh almighty, now this was some playin', boys and girls!!!!

10/10 Tweezer :)

On a roll, The Lizards is ON FIRE!!! I normally love this tune and fell in love with it for the chill, nostalgic vibe it gives off (the Skippy the Wondermouse part?) but this was likea Chalkdust Torture Lizards or something, haha.

And then - piano sliiiidddeeee - WHAM! - into a rip-roaring The Landlady!!!

Man oh man they are just slaying!!!

After this short but wonderful musical interlude BATR gives us a breather, but soon thereafter we need our respirators again for a breathtakingly raging Maze.

It's 1993. It's Maze. It destroys worlds. You know this. I know this. 'nuff said. :p

And Glide is Glide :D

Harry Hood - Awesome version. Awesome show. If 8/14/93 deserves all the praise it gets, this certainly does as well.

A wonderful show that flowed like butter from start to finish.
