6/17 and 6/18 were both outstanding shows - let's hope this one ends the show in just as good manner

 Set 1 tonight was outstanding

Every single song was a highlight in one form or another. The boys are still playing exceptionally tight with nary a flub to be found, aside from that rough-but-loving Thunder Road

The whole set goes on my highlight list - it was just off the hook, yo

Wow, talk about a 1-2 smash to the face to open the set!!!

Both rock, but unfortunately just as both were about to go into Type II land, Trey instead leads into the next song.

Not ripcorded, but he definitely goes "ok, that's enough" to both of them. Very frustrating. 

Slave to the Traffic Light

Guys, really, check this one out. Gorgeous and mellow, patient and taking its time. This one is just exceptional. I'm usually a take-it-or-leave-it guy with Slave, so that's saying something.

Absolutely amazing version.  

Slave>Fluffhead

Holy mother of Wilson, talk about a perfect pairing. Both were outstanding (as I waxed poetic above regarding Slave...)

Fluffhead was flawless. If anyone talks about them flubbing it in 3.0, send them directly here!!!

Loaded with energy and perfect execution, seriously a 10/10 version for 3.0

And then segueing perfectly into Sand...

This set just keeps getting more awesome as it goes

Set 1 was spectacular. I thought it was gonna be rough but everything had extra X Factor tonight and the sequencing actually worked perfectly!

 So I decided to check out the slow-funk Llama I've heard about.

First song of 2018-10-20, Hampton

AND IT WAS FREAKING SICK YO! SLOW FUNK LLAMA FOR THE FRIGGIN' WIN!

That was incredible.

Kept on listening it was so good, lol (I didn't plan any Phish for tonight, haha)

Into a raging Fuego that destroyed (one of the best tracks they've ever done, imo).

From there we get a lengthy Runaway Jim that was surprisingly jammed.

And now into a "wow, that's early in the show" Bug that is actually refreshing to hear in such placement

Great stuff so far - and we still have Mound and Tela to go. COOL! 

Mound seemed very well performed to these ears. A great rarity to hear.

As was Tela. I'm not as familiar with the song though so I couldn't reliably tell if it was bad or not (sounded good to me)

and now 46 Days.

46 Days is a song that never excites me when I see it listed, but it never fails to end up blowing my mind.
This one is STUPENDOUS

Trey goes BONKERS all over this thing and makes it very, very dark, wrangling murderous, howling squeals of pain and torture from his poor Languedoc!

Wonderfully awesome version. Killer.  

A very lengthy (almost 18 minutes) Fluffhead to close out this way-more-awesome-than-expected first set.

A pretty epic version all around, just a shame that Trey is killing it - in the bad way - throughout

Oh well, at least we get a rocking First Tube to open 2nd set!

Can't remember the last time I saw this somewhere other than a set closer it feels like - as with Bug it's majorly refreshing to me to get it in this opening slot

After a rocking set 2 opener with First Tube, we go straight for Dark Funky Land with a pretty great Tweezer.

Too much to go into - go check it out!

But it somehow *magically* came to a perfect close and out we came into one of the most beautiful versions of Dirt you'll hear.

This song always gives me chills. Its so darn melancholy and chill - argh its just so beautiful!!!

It sounds like something Billy Corgan would've written for the Adore album, now that I think about it! (I can totally hear him singing it)

Waste is my favorite Phish song and my favorite ballad of theirs, but Dirt is definitely in that #2 slot. It's not even close for me.

Anyways, after being engrossed in this beyond-lovely detour for a few minutes, we slide PERFECTLY into Number Line like the two are part of a suite or something!!!

The vibe of the song and the subject matter, combined with the current vibe of the show, mixed absolutely perfectly. A truly awesome segue moment.

This Number Line is WAY relaxed and laid back compared to some raging versions. This is a chill one. And its awesome.

I'm sorry guys, but I'm just lapping this show right the heck up - its terrific! 

Ok, so now we are firmly in the thick of jam land here.

This has felt like a 2000 show to me so far and this vibe continues out of Number Line and into No Man's Land

NMINML is really jammed out. It's only 12 minutes but feels a lot longer. In that 12 minutes it manages to get even deeper than the raging dark Tweezer did!
Hell, we even reach peak 1999/2000 ambiance for a short bit. Unfortunately, just when you think they are gonna extend it out like the Great Went "2001", Trey ripcords us back into the Type 1 NMINML jam.

DANG IT

Its still great though, so I cant complain. Outta nowhere though we go into a rocking Cavern.

It's Cavern. It's great.

But then we surprisingly head for Gotta Jibboo!!

YES. I FREAKING LOVE JIBBOO!!

AND THIS JIBBOO IS THE MOST JIBBOO OF ALL THE JIBBOOS YOU CAN SHAKE A JIBBOO AT!

10 way too short minutes of PEAK Jiboo wonderfulness!!!

I'm a damn sucker for Jibboo. The main "groove" during the regular jam portion of the song are like butter for me. Just sweet, glorious butter.

Freaking AWESOME!!!!

And then into Oh Kee Pah - didn't see that one coming! (How many times have I said that so far this show?)

Strawberry Letter 23 to open. Good stuff but im not a massive fan of it so I'll take it or leave it.
 

Blaze On is bringing that ripping goodness though! I still can't stand the song (and I love Big Boat!) but this jam rips

Divided Sky - Oh my word. Nearly flawless. I think I heard, maybe, one small flub from Trey. This needs to be heard 

Very interesting first set. Excellently played throughout - flubs are gone tonight, though Trey is still doing that "playing too quietly" thing...

After DS, Sparkle was a raucous blast, Undermind was a PARTY, Rift was excellent, and Walk Away SMASHED!!!!

Man, I'm sure this was a freaking party of a set to be at!
