2019-06-30 Camden, NJ

Well, it's an awful rainy day and we are done with work (crawled under a house for 2 hours in the mud to fix a water leak...) and I'm nice and warm and cozy, so that means early listening for today (usually, I listen in the evening)

Onwards to 6/30/19 Camden

Night 1 was awesome. Night 2 sucked in some spots and slayed in others. I heard Night 3 is the "best" though, so I'm excited.

Set 1.

The Curtain With -
Unexpected and choice opener! Awesome 3.0 version that is not loaded with flubs. Absolutely gorgeous and the jam section is nailed.

>Fast Enough For You - Wow, out of TCW, that was a perfect song choice. They just slid right into it....Maybe not the song you want as 2nd of the first set, but who cares about set placement with a well-performed rarity!! Great version, Trey is on point. Beautiful playing from all.

>Buried Alive - A+ for song choice and effort, but holy hell they absolutely murdered the song in the worst way, lol. Top-tier screw up :p Pretty good by the end!

Camel Walk - And the classics keep comin'!!! It's CW, it's Type I and funky as well. Very good version worth checking out. Not highlights worthy, but a good one!

Reba - FLAWLESS! :D A rarity, a 3.0 Reba not butchered and with Trey fully audible!!! AWESOME. Really, really terrific Reba for 2019

Sample in a Jar - Freaking powerful and ROCKING to high heavens. Sick.

Pebbles and Marbles - Nothing special, just a strong straight ahead version. Rarity factor!!! Great stuff.

Tela - YES! TELA! I LOVE TELA!!!

MANGO SONG - YES YES YES YES!!
The crowd roars its approval and we get a great version of this ultra-rarity. AWESOME.

Driver - What is this, rarity set bananza?! Very nice version, but Driver is Driver :)

David Bowie - Wow!!! A 3.0 Bowie that doesn't make me cringe!!!! :D Really awesome Bowie with some great jamming well worth your time. Fantastic close to an A+ first set.

What a freaking phenomenal first set that was. Rarities out the wazoo, great playing, great energy. Everything was excellent and this more than made up for the previous night :p

Set 2

Mr. Completely - Completely bonkers!!! The song portion is pretty weak but they jump headfirst into the jam in what, 2 minutes or something?? And its into deep space Type II for 15 glorious dark minutes of awesomeness. Heck. Yes.

>TWENTY YEARS LATER!! - 21 minutes of Type II exploration. The guys roll with it and it's a journey. Mandatory listening. Absolutely one of the best jams of the summer.

>BIG BLACK FURRY CREATURE FROM MARS!!!!

>TWEEZER!!!!!!!!!!! -
Seriously. After all that and then they decide to unleash Tweezer. Mind=blown. AND ITS FRIGGIN AWESOME! 13 MINUTES OF TOP NOTCH RAGING! CAN THIS GIG GET ANY FRIGGIN BETTER?! HOLY HEL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

>Most Events Aren't Planned - FREAKING SICK. SICK SICK SICK SICK SICK!!!!!!!!!!!! Great to have a Page song this far into the show and this is one of his best, imo. I still remember listening to the Alpharetta 2018 version and being blown away! FANTASTIC!!!!!

>Makisupa Policeman - A surprisingly lengthy/jammed out version that is most dank.

Chalkdust Torture - LETS FRIGGIN GO!!!!!!!!!

Suzy Greenberg - There had to be a breather at some point, eh? :) Good hot Suzy but nothing special.

Punch You In the Eye - Sick. Proper tempo!!! Ripping it up from the start! None of that usual 3.0 PYITE awfulness :D As my favorite Phish song (and the one that made me a fan!) I take my Punch's VERY seriously. :p Ok, this one isn't perfect, but for a 2019 rendition, it's DARN GOOD!!!! Not list worthy, mind you, but strong enough to keep me from completely cringing :)

>What's The Use - Wow! Talk about a segue noone saw coming! Man oh man, this is astonishingly beautiful. Very Pink Floyd-esque tonight.

Julius - Is Julius. It rocks. It closes this unbelievable show. Great stuff.

6/30/19 Camden #3 in review:

Monster effin' show.

Easily the best of the tour so far (and this tour has had several outright classics already!).

This was one of those "X Factor" shows where the stars align and you just keep saying to yourself "it can't possibly get any better".

And then it does. Over and over again.

Tied with 6/22 and 6/25 as best of tour so far, but this evern surpasses those by a wide margin. Truly exceptional show, no hyperbole.

.NET rated this a 4.5 if I'm not mistaken, and for once I actually totally agree with "them".

Until we get to Alpine, this is THE show of the tour so far. No question.

If this was the year 2000, they would've picked this to be on the Live Phish CD series, let's put it like that.
