2011 Summer tour, in conclusion! Extended Thoughts and Highlights

Just finished 6/19/11 Portsmouth.

Dang, what a way to end a tour!


This was an awesome tour, exceptionally tight, playing wise, almost every night. I constantly made note of that - very nice. Long jams were lacking and there were many ripcords throughout. Trey got better and "transitioning" out of a jam rather than ripping it as the tour went on. Thank god, cuz some of the earlier ripcords were AWFUL.

Lots of good Type 1.5 jamming. Often they would be knocking on the doorstep of Type II and then - BAM - next song!
I'm a song guy first and foremost (can't have a jam without the vehicle to get you there!) but having promising jamming cancelled for no reason really sucks, lol.

That aside, pretty great setlists most nights.
