2018-11-03 Las Vegas, NV

Interesting setlist - not to my taste but these are usually the gigs that surprise me :)

So far:

Set 1
Moma Dance - horrendous as an opener!!!! Oh my gosh talk about a non-opening, haha. It's a pretty good version though and gets very chill for the jam.

Kill Devil Falls - Now we are talking! Jeez, if only they had switched these 2 in set order.... :p

Man, on paper this set looks chill as hell!

Moma was a chill opener and then KDF started pretty chill as well.
I thought "better get used to this mood for tonight then I guess!"

KDF was SICK!!! It got going into some really, really nice chill jamming before Trey eventually took the lead and led us into NASTY shredfest jamming to bring it to close.

Awesome version. And into Roggae we go.

Extremely chill first set, but still highly enjoyable. Just don't play this set if you want to RAWK, lol.

But if you are cool with hanging out and some lovely more relaxed-pace Phish, this is the set for you :)

Everything was pretty darn good. The usual suspects are all worth checkign out, not too much to go banana sandwich about.

Just a very nice laid-back set!

Just now finishing up 11/3/18 Las Vegas #4

Holy hell was this one of the hottest runs of all time or WHAT?!

2 of the 4 shows I'd easily place in the tops of the year and the other 2 gigs have more than enough world-destroying highlights to have them not far behind.

But back to 11/3/18 for a minute.

I mentioned earlier set 1 - it was excessively chill, but that doesn't mean bad! It just had a super easy going vibe for some reason. Some good jams in Tube, Kill Devil Falls, Moma Dance and Roggae though! Also, the Mike's>Lifeboy>Paug was worth checking out as well.

A very strong B+ first set for me. :)

Set two though has been a volcanic eruption of titanic proportions!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Easily as good as the other 3 second sets of the run (or set 3 of 10/31...)

We open with a dark monster Carini that tears us to pieces. It segues perfectly but nastily into a DESTROYER of a 46 Days!! 46 Days segues into SASS which is 15 minutes of wonderfully multi-segmented Type II exploration.

Light, shade, bliss, darkness...its got it all!!!

And then BAM into Crosseyed. Crosseyed destroys for 11 more minutes like you would expect it to. Type I explosion into a short-but-raging 2001.

2001 into a ripping Possum (is Possum ever NOT hot?!) into a 21 minute Split Open and Melt extravaganza.

Velvet Sea and Character Zero take us out.

Damn, I enjoyed these shows more than I had any right to. And I played them under less than ideal mood/listening conditions!

Peace and love. Y'all weren't kidding that 2018 was a scorcher of a year! ONLY 4 MORE SHOWS TO GO!
