2010-06-12 Cleveland, OH

 Beginning 6/12/10, Cleveland, OH

An interesting looking setlist tonight.

A trio of rare covers (the debut of the rocking Look Out Cleveland, the 2nd Curtis Lowe since 1993, and the debut of Instant Karma!) as well.

A very, very, VERY nice Ocelot is second in line tonight. I love this song but, as like so many others, I feel this song suffers if not performed at exactly the right tempo - too slow and it's a drag fest :p This one is perfect!

A promising start so far.

After Ocelot we get the first, IIRC, uptempo Water In the Sky since what, 98? Wonderful.

Stash is a little aimless in the jamming (I won't be returning to this one....) but overall was still excellently performed.

Curtis Loew is just terrific - always great to hear Page singing and the performance is flawless. Definitely sounds rehearsed.

Sample in a Jar was very good as always, but Sample is Sample. A good one is just that - good. :)

TTE on the other hand - AWESOME.

Can't get enough of this epic. This one has some nice jamming for a bit as well.

The 2nd first set of 2010 comes to a close with a raging 22 minute Mike's Groove. This trio, to me, never really gelled in 2009. It was always good, but never really totally blew my mind for some reason. This version is a definite step in the right direction.  Hell, just check out the sick playing in Mike's Song alone! :)

Awesome first set - definitely equal to the previous show's near-perfect set.

The RR set 2 opener was great but the following Hood was too chill for its own good and, dare I say, anticlimactic.

Thankfully we rebound quickly with the massive 20 minute BDTNL>20 Years Later.

Sick

Just finished set 2

Overall, set 1 was as good as set 1 of 6/11, but set 2 of 6/12 was weird.

The energy dropped a lot between sets and the 2nd half of this show felt too chill despite the very good song choices.

Also, Treys playing in the 2nd set was very sloppy throughout.

:/

Overall a great show but this will be one for the highlights reel
