2010-10-11 Broomfield, CO

10/11 isn't starting much better unfortunately.

I like Runaway Jim, but it's nowhere near a favorite opener for me and this version absolutely snoozes for the first 3/4 of it. It has some great jamming/soloing in the back half but it feels like a deadweight opening tonight.

The following Foam is just ok as well. I love Foam to bits but it's another case of not-much-energy-here, imo.

Hopefully BOTT pumps it up a bit....

The Return of the Son of "Just skip the first four songs" Vol. 2

Runaway Jim
Foam
BOTT
Wolfman

This opening quartet kinda sucked, lol. I'm a fan of all the songs but none of these were exceptional outside of some great-as-usual soloing and they just seemed overall...boring, dare I say.

Then Reba came and BAM! It was like someone flipped the light switch on!!!

Reba slayed and then Halley's Comet was sick as well.

Unfortunately Trey totally rip-corded the jam but he led us into a rare first-set Tweezer that was 12 minutes of "THAT WAS SO WORTH IT!"

Dang son. The boys are gettin' their bi-polar on tonight! :p

Up next is the debut - and first of only 2 Phish performances - of What Things Seem

Just fnished 10/11/10

Golly that seemed like a really long show for some reason.

Ok, skip the first four snoozers and begin directly with Reba and proceed onwards from there.

In set 2, nab it all up through BDTNL

The Golden Age>Jam>Camel Walk sequence was fantastic.

Jibboo was wonderful.

Twist was absolutely INCREDIBLE tonight. This isn't a faovrite of mine but this one had a great jazzy, almost bossa-nova flavor to it. Wonderful.

Fluffhead smoked.

Number Line brought the house down.

Sleeping Monkey and Tweeprise? Eh, I consider Number Line the real closer here.

Overall, as with 10/10, too inconsistent to be listed on the "best COMPLETE shows of the year" list, but hell if there weren't still a ton of incredible highlights.

The Golden Age>Camel Walk is essential!!!
