1993-08-26 Portland, OR

8/26/93 Portland

Only about 30 minutes in and I can tell this is gonna be a banger show :)

First off, the setlist is terrific. Sometimes the setlists get a little stale for me around this period but this one is loaded with choice songs :)

Set 1 so far:

Runaway Jim - Terrific opener and version. Using their dynamics again, we get a good strong jam that covers much ground despite remaining "in the box." Don't miss this one!

Guelah Papyrus - nothing special about this but always great to hear and finely played

Reba - Woah nelly. CLASSIC REBA! Simpsons signals, oddball jam (Reba didn't go Type II until 1998 but this comes close!) and Machine Gun Trey. Any questions?

Fee - Great piano, great spirit. Love the crowd reactions. :)

Another home-run show from August '93!

8/26 Portland was a terrific show. Nothing was less than excellent. This is my highlights list:

Guelah and Ice almost made the list but there was nothing notable about them other than being played great

8/26 Portland **
Runaway Jim (Very out there Type I!! Sick opening!)
Reba (Protracted jam, simpsons signal, machine gun Trey - CLASSIC!)
Fee (Great version, weird jam at end)
Split Open and Melt (Type II abstract fun)
Esther
Harry Hood (CHECK THAT SEGUE FROM IT'S ICE!!! Gorgeous version. Very dynamic. Ultra-chill jam in middle. Classic Hood)
David Bowie (MADNESS! HOLY FREAKING CRAP)
Lifeboy
Jesus Just Left Chicago
Chalkdust Torture
