2010-06-18 Hartford, CT

Chilly night here in Greenville, SC. Just did some strumming in the park for 2 hours but then it got too cold and I couldn't feel my hands so I had to pack it in

That being said now I'm in Starbucks for the evening with 6/18/10, Hartford #2 going.

Interesting setlist tonight - it's not loaded with favorites but we do get some rarities including a wonderful Fee to open and the debut of Summer of '89

You can literally skip the first 41 minutes and pretend the show begins with Possum

Fee is always great to hear, but this wasn't any mind blowing version. Same sentiments go for Rift. Summer of '89 was....well let's just say I can dig it but totally understand the hatred for it, lol. Foam was Foam (it's always good!)

By Foam the energy still hadn't risen much and I was kinda starting to get a little bored, but then HOLY JEEZUS POSSUM COMES AND KICKS US IN THE HEAD!!!

With Possum, the boys finally found the switch labeled "ENERGY" and flipped it to the highest setting.

THANK YOU GUYS! :D

The following Moma Dance is one of the hottest of 3.0 so far. Another tune that's always great but this one felt like it had a little "extra" goin' on, ya know? Seek it out :)

The outro segue directly into a rocking Julius is the cherry on this threepeat sandwich

So the first 41 minutes of set 1 are totally skippable.

Everything after that all the way through the set closing Reba (which is PERFECT, I might add) is mandatory 2010 listening :)

BILLY BREATHES IS FRIGGIN GORGEOUS!!!!

The 41 minutes of "blah" that began this show is a shame, because otherwise this totally ranks up with the rest of the best shows so far!!!

So far in set 2:

Haley's Comet - always fun, a great version

Light>Billy Breathes - I love Light. This one didn't feel epic but it was still excellent, and the segue into (and the whole song) Billy Breathes was choice! BB is becoming a favorite of mine and I welcome it in any set :)

Tweezer>Theme From the Bottom - Tweezer was 16 minutes of sick jamming and again, the segue into Theme was unexpected but cool. Theme itself RIPS!!!! Dang! Trey is shredding on this!!!

Currently bleeding from the ears thanks to Trey ripping them open with his soloing in Theme...

:D

Holy crap...

Tweezer>Theme From the Bottom>Harry Hood>Wading in the Velvet Sea

This whole sequence is every bit as magical, hot, emotional and ridiculous as you would expect. This looks like a sequence from 1998 or something!
