Contiuing 2010 with night 2 in Telluride

Oh man this setlist does not look promising. Talk about a slightly odd looking set, eh?

As for the contents, I'm up to Divided Sky so far:

Squirming Coil - terrible show starter, imo. This was a downright awesome version that seemed to have more power than normal (set placement?) but it just does not work as an opener for me. At all.

Stealing Time - an evil, Carini-esque version, but poor set placement imo. 2 slow songs in a row to start a show is not good! :)

Ya Mar - NOW we are dancing! Great version with some sick jamming in the rear.

Timber - almost a segue out of Ya Mar, Timber RAGES and is maybe the best thing yet. Get this version ASAP. :)

Let Me Lie - I like the song but boy oh boy talk about a set/mood killer. Momentum=gone. :(

Divided Sky - pretty great as always but the relaxed mood of the night isn't doing it any favors.

Set 1 was weird - Great stuff scattered throughout but not one I'm ever going to willfully sit through again as a whole.

Set 2 is destroying

Party Time - I genuinely think this (the 6th of 3.0) is the best one yet. It's come a long way since it's awkward debut performance!!!

Mike's>Crosseyed>Hydrogen>Groove - Mike was killer on it's own, the sandwich filler was great, and then Gordo murdering his bass on Groove just blew my mind.

Destiny Unbound was great to hear but unfortunately sounded as though it's rarity contributed to it's stilted performance. If you're gonna have a speed bump, it might as well be a rarity! :)

Carini>Free - INTENSE This got real dark and real EVIL real fast. Incredible - the definite show highlight so far - easily. We go into a deep, SCARY, Type II jam for a short while that segues wonderfully into a FREAKING RAGING "Free" where Trey channels his inner Hendrix. DANG.

Out of Free and into a lightspeed Heavy Things that is a bit disappointing in it's rushed nature, much like a well-played but just TOO FAST 1980's "Eyes of the World". Still, I'll take it!

:)
